Instructions
Instructions
-
Preheat oven. Set to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Prep salmon. Pat fillets dry. Place skin-side down on the baking sheet.
-
Season. Drizzle with olive oil. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic. Press fresh dill onto the top of each fillet. Arrange lemon slices on top.
-
Bake. Cook for 12-15 minutes until salmon flakes easily with a fork. The centre should still be slightly translucent.
-
Serve. Serve with a squeeze of fresh lemon.
Perfect Doneness
Salmon is done when:
- It flakes easily with a fork
- Internal temp is 52-57°C (125-135°F)
- The flesh turns from translucent to opaque
- A bit of white albumin appears (normal, not a problem)
Meal Prep Tips
- Cook 4-6 fillets at once
- Store in the fridge up to 3 days
- Eat cold in salads or reheat gently
- Great for lunch prep
Variations
- Asian: Sesame oil, ginger, soy sauce
- Mediterranean: Olives, sun-dried tomatoes, feta
- Cajun: Cajun seasoning instead of dill
- Pesto: Top with basil pesto after baking
Notes
- Wild-caught salmon has better omega-3 ratios
- Don’t overcook—salmon should be moist inside
- Skin can be eaten or peeled off easily after cooking
