Layer in slow cooker. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of slow cooker. Pour chicken broth over the top.

Add cream cheese. Cut cream cheese into cubes and scatter over chicken. Sprinkle ranch seasoning evenly on top.

Slow cook. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 hours or HIGH for 2 hours, until chicken is cooked through and easily shreds.

Shred the chicken. Using two forks, shred chicken directly in the slow cooker. Stir everything together until cream cheese is fully incorporated.

Add toppings. Stir in half the cheddar and half the bacon. Top with remaining cheese and bacon.

Melt the cheese. Cover and cook on HIGH for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted.

Serve. Garnish with chives. Serve hot.
Tips
- Don’t overcook: Chicken breasts can dry out if cooked too long. Check at the minimum time.
- Make your own ranch: Mix dried dill, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Oven method: Bake covered at 190°C (375°F) for 45 minutes if you don’t have a slow cooker.
